The Spanish government’s decision to send warships to the Middle East as part of formations hostile to the resistance forces defending the Palestinian people constitutes a fully-fledged hostile act. It is a clear support for the aggression and war crimes committed by the occupation and its American partner.
The participation of the helicopter carrier warship “Juan Carlos” in the hostile mobilization led by the United States in the region represents a continuation of the hypocritical policy led by Pedro Sánchez’s government, which officially claims to reject genocidal war while continuing to support aggression against the peoples of the region. This government has been and remains involved in various forms of support for the occupying state, including security and military deals.
These military forces and warships have undoubtedly been sent to participate in the aggression against the countries and peoples of the region and to support the aggressive policies and war crimes perpetrated by the Zionist genocidal regime with the backing, participation, and support of the United States of America.
The government continues to pursue a policy of double standards. Those who claim in their official rhetoric to support the rights of the Palestinian people know well that they must first stop supporting and arming the Zionist genocidal system and reject any cooperation with it in any field, instead of sending military forces to participate in the aggression and threats against our peoples.
The positions of progressive and anti-imperialist forces in Spain have led to increased awareness among the Spanish public about the Palestinian cause, as well as the large popular movement that Spain has witnessed in support of the rights of the Palestinian people and in rejection of the genocidal war and any silence on aggressive policies that go against the will of the people.
We must all, those who support the Palestinian cause and those who reject imperialist policies, and those of us who are part of the progressive anti-imperialist forces in Spain and the European Union, intensify our struggle to stop these hostile practices by the governments of these countries.
While the imperialist forces continue their hostile practices and send their warships to the Middle East, the genocide against the Palestinian people continues and becomes more brutal every day. Today, August 10, 2024, marks the 309th day of the aggression against the Gaza Strip. The Israeli occupation committed a horrific massacre at the Al-Tabi’in School in central Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 people and injuring dozens more.
