ُThe Popular Front Condemns False Allegations Against Yemen, Emphasizes That Yemen’s Role Is a Legitimate Humanitarian and Moral Duty Protected by International Law
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has denounced the biased report issued by the United Nations Panel of Experts on Yemen, considering it a tool for promoting baseless claims as a prelude to legitimizing a new aggressive escalation against Yemen, supported by major international powers.
The PFLP described this report as an attempt to distort the image of the Yemeni Armed Forces and the Ansar Allah movement, which have provided and continue to provide courageous support to the Palestinian people and their steadfastness in the face of the genocidal campaign led by the Zionist occupation, with backing from the United States and its colonial allies.
It affirmed that Yemen’s role, its armed forces, and their allies represent a noble moral and humanitarian duty in the face of the war machine targeting the Palestinian people.
The Popular Front believes that intercepting maritime supplies destined for the Israeli occupation as a legitimate, necessary, and responsible step aimed at disrupting supply lines to the occupation’s army and its ongoing crimes.
The PFLP stressed that intercepting supply ships that support the occupation’s system in committing war crimes is a duty incumbent upon all nations, in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. The measures taken by Yemen and its armed forces in this regard align with international law.
The Popular Front confirmed that this step contributes to safeguarding regional security and deterring the criminal occupation system. It is a proportionate response to the scale of threats and dangers and helps protect the security of the region’s peoples and halt war crimes.
It also noted that the report, which relied on anonymous and secret sources, lacks credibility and reflects a blatant bias in favor of colonial governments that continue to aggress against Yemen, foremost among them the occupying power, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The PFLP reiterated its high appreciation for the positions of the Yemeni leadership, commending the solidarity shown by the Yemeni army and people with the nation’s causes. It considered Yemen to embody an exceptional role in supporting the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region as part of its humanitarian duty.
The Popular Front affirmed that the Yemeni people alone have the right to determine their destiny without external interference, viewing any Western support for forces aiming to destabilize Yemen as serving colonial interests and reflecting aggressive ambitions.
