Palestinian institutions and associations organize a demonstration in front of the U.S. Embassy in Brussels against the war of extermination and Washington’s support for it

Brussels – Tuesday, September 23, 2025
The Handala Association, in cooperation with Palestinian institutions and associations in Belgium, organized a mass protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Brussels, condemning systematic American support for the ongoing war of extermination against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Dozens of Palestinian and Arab activists took part in the demonstration, alongside European and Turkish solidarity activists. They raised Palestinian flags and anti-aggression slogans, demanding an immediate end to the massacres and an end to U.S. military support for Israel.
Speeches and Statements
The event opened with a speech by Hamdan Al-Dumeiri, representing the Handala Association, in which he affirmed:
“The United States bears direct responsibility for the crimes committed in Gaza. It is the primary financier of killing and destruction, and it cannot hide behind false slogans of peace and human rights.”
Al-Dumeiri added that the Palestinian community in Belgium, together with free people around the world, will continue their mobilizations until the aggression ends and the siege is lifted.
For his part, Ahmad Fransini, speaking on behalf of the Palestinian institutions in Belgium, stressed that this demonstration represents a cry of conscience against Western complicity, and a call to mobilize European public opinion to pressure their governments into adopting a just and practical stance on the Palestinian cause.
Representatives of Turkish groups also addressed the crowd, speaking about the “Gaza Caravan,” which continues its journey through European capitals toward the Rafah crossing as a concrete message of solidarity with Gaza and its people’s resilience.
The Belgian Position
In a notable intervention, Belgian politician Pierre Galand expressed his rejection of the current position of the Belgian government regarding the war of extermination in Gaza. He sharply criticized the prime minister’s statements on a “conditional recognition” of the State of Palestine.
Galand affirmed that the living forces in Belgium stand with Palestinian rights, and that hesitant or biased official positions do not reflect the conscience of the Belgian people, who are in solidarity with Gaza.
Upcoming Events
It was announced that on Wednesday, September 25th, another protest will be held in front of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Brussels, in rejection of its recent stance at the UN, as part of a continuing series of solidarity activities.
These mobilizations fall within the framework of the “Global Silence and Strike Week,” declared in many countries and capitals worldwide in opposition to the war of extermination in Gaza.
The participating associations also called on all popular movements, institutions, trade unions, students, and academics to expand their participation in the upcoming actions against policies biased toward the Israeli occupation, until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.
Closing the Demonstration
The event concluded with collective chants in Arabic and English, including:
“Stop the genocide now!” – “Freedom for Palestine!” – “Gaza will triumph!”
Participants confirmed their commitment to continue organizing solidarity events in Belgian and European cities until the aggression ends, the siege is lifted, and the Israeli occupation authorities and their supporters are held accountable for their crimes.
