Popular Unity Democratic Party of Jordan condemns the arrest of its Deputy General Secretary by the Jordanian Police, on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, while he was out of Al Basheer Hospital, where he serves as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Party considers this arrest a blatant violation of the fundamental rights of Jordanians to freedom of opinion, expression, and peaceful assembly. It stands in clear contradiction to the discourse surrounding the modernization of the political system and the rights guaranteed to Jordanians by the Jordanian Constitution and international conventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Party reaffirms its firm stance in defending public freedoms and reiterates its demand for the immediate release of Dr. Issam Al Khawaja and all prisoners of conscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
