From early resistance during the American Revolutionary War to the mass mobilizations of the Vietnam War, opposition to war has reflected moral, political, and economic divisions within American society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vietnam era represents the high-water mark of anti-war organizing. Hundreds of thousands mobilized through coordinated strategies\u2014teach-ins, mass demonstrations, and alliances with civil rights leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr.. Messaging was clear and accessible: the war was unjust, and it must end. This clarity allowed the movement to build a broad coalition capable of sustained pressure on political institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By contrast, the protests surrounding the Iraq War demonstrated both the potential and limitations of modern mobilization.
