The Union of Palestinian Communities and Organizations in Europe, in cooperation with the Union of Palestinian Communities, Activities, and Institutions, organized an online panel discussion via Zoom on the evening of Sunday, May 10, 2026, under the title: \u201c78 Years Since the Nakba, Displacement, and Genocide\u2026 A Continuing Struggle Until Return.\u201d The event was held as part of the activities commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar brought together a distinguished group of Palestinian writers, researchers, and activists, who addressed the current reality of the Palestinian cause, the political and national challenges facing the Palestinian people, the dangers threatening the future of the Palestiniancause, and the role entrusted to Palestinians in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his intervention, Mr. Amir Makhoul reviewed the reality of the Palestinian cause in the territories occupied in 1948 and the escalating fascist assault targeting Palestinians, aimed at crushing their political presence and physically expelling them from Palestine. He also discussed the contradictions of the Zionist settler-colonial entity in Palestine and its increasing shift toward fascism, particularly at the legal and judicial levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, Mr. Fathi Kleib warned of the Zionist and American campaigns against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which seek to undermine the agency\u2019s work and strip it of its political significance as the international and historical witness to the Nakba and to the Palestinians\u2019 historical right to return and self-determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Mr. Wissam Al-Rafidi emphasized the importance of restoring the Palestinian national resistance project in confronting the Zionist aggression and the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in all areas of their existence, especially in light of Western participation and complicity in this genocide. He pointed to the Palestinian Authority\u2019s dependence on the reactionary and concessionary official Arab project and the consequences this has had on the trajectory of the Palestinian national struggle against colonialism. In this context, he called for rebuilding the Palestinian national project on clear foundations centered around resistance as a strategic choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar also witnessed numerous contributions that enriched the discussion and shed light on ways to overcome the current challenges and restore a national path that supports the historical Palestinian rights, ensuring the Palestinians\u2019 right to self-determination, return, and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
