On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the first session of the political training course “Decolonizing Narratives” was launched in Havana, Cuba, organized by the Palestinian Youth.

The event was held at the symbolic Casa de las Américas, where participants engaged in meaningful discussions on critical topics, including the ceasefire, the concept of victory in the Palestinian narrative, and the current situation in Palestine. This training program, developed in collaboration with multiple organizations and professors from various institutes and political entities, is designed primarily for young participants—both Cubans and internationals alike.

Key Objectives:

  1. Conduct a critical analysis of the global and leftist realities, with a particular focus on Palestine’s pivotal role in global changes.
  2. Deepen comprehension of the Palestinian cause by exploring its history of resistance, current struggles, and the ongoing Zionist and imperialist agendas jeopardizing its future.

Approximately 50 students from various nationalities are anticipated to take part, participating in discussions on topics including:

  • The crucial contribution of Palestinian women to resistance movements, grassroots
    empowerment, and feminism.
  • Imperialism and Zionism: their historical evolution, contemporary impact, and knowledge warfare.
  • The rise of the far right on the global scale.
  • Struggle in Latin America and leftist projects in the region.
  • Palestinian culture as a tool of resistance against Zionist agendas.
  • The impact of Trumpism on Palestine, Cuba, and the Global South.
  • The media war and its influence on public perception of conflicts.

This training initiative has been launched in response to the dire and complicated circumstances currently facing Palestine, marked by profound geopolitical changes and their repercussions on the Palestinian people. As the Palestinian Youth stated in their appeal for involvement: “The driving force of history is the people, and the fuel of this force is the youth and the rising generation. The experience of the past fifteen months, amidst the escalating genocide against the Palestinian people, has demonstrated the power of this human fuel.”

Through their resilience and resistance, Gaza—a small strip of land— has left a significant impact on the world. Course organizers emphasize that this experience must be refined and expanded by training organizational cadres in the Global South, drawing strength from the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

Driven by a deep commitment to strengthening revolutionary struggle and rooted in the belief in the peoples’ right to freedom, justice, and self-determination, this program aims—however modestly—to contribute to building a better future. Turning words into tangible actions, transforming them into weapons against oppression, injustice, and tyranny.
