The Union of Palestinian Communities and Institutions in Europe considers the approval by the Israeli Knesset of the law allowing the “execution of Palestinian prisoners” to mark a critical historical turning point in the history of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement. It represents a dangerous escalation in the occupation’s policies aimed at the extermination of the Palestinian people.

The Union stresses that this law directly threatens the lives and fundamental rights of Palestinians and exposes the true nature of the Israeli fascist regime, which continues to commit crimes against the Palestinian people, most recently the genocidal war in Gaza.

The Union warns that the law grants military courts the authority to issue and carry out death sentences within 90 days, in a system where conviction rates exceed 96% against Palestinians. This effectively turns the legislation into a tool for legitimizing the deliberate killing of prisoners.

The Union emphasizes that this law places thousands of Palestinian political prisoners—detained for their legitimate struggle against occupation—at immediate risk, constituting a direct threat to their lives and existence.

The Union holds the international community morally and historically responsible for the continuation of this escalation, noting that the absence of accountability—especially the European Union—encourages the occupation authorities to persist in their policies. It also highlights that war criminals, including the head of the occupying state and ministers who voted for this law and who are wanted by international justice, continue to move freely within Europe without accountability.

The Union affirms that continued political and material support from the European Union contributes to enabling these grave violations, necessitating urgent action.

Accordingly, as Palestinian institutions in Europe, we demand:

1- Declaring the Knesset an institution that supports genocide and war crimes, and banning its members from entering European Union countries.

2- Immediate termination of the Knesset’s membership in international parliamentary bodies and unions.

3- Cancellation of the EU-Israel Association Agreement and suspension of all political, economic, and scientific cooperation.

4- Imposition of a comprehensive economic and military embargo on the occupying state.

The Union calls on all Palestinian and Arab communities in Europe and human rights organizations operating in Europe to take urgent action and take their responsibilities to stop these crimes and end the European complicity.

It also stresses the need to unify legal, political, and diplomatic efforts to confront this law, protect the lives of Palestinian prisoners, and ensure accountability for violations committed against them.
