Palestine Republic – Special
Handala Association in Belgium has strongly condemned the decision of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, to approve legislation permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of international law and human rights.
The association emphasized that Palestinian prisoners are protected under international humanitarian law, and any legislation allowing their execution poses a direct threat to their lives and reinforces policies of repression inside prisons.
Handala Association called on the international community and European governments to take urgent action to prevent the implementation of this law and to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people. The association reaffirmed its full solidarity with Palestinian prisoners and urged intensified public and legal advocacy across Europe to defend their rights and dignity.
The association also called on solidarity movements for Palestine across Europe and worldwide to step up public and legal actions in defense of Palestinian prisoners and to increase pressure to end the occupation’s policies of repression and violations against them.
