The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourned in a statement the passing of the French internationalist activist Suzanne Lo Mansou, who died after a long battle with illness. The Popular Front stated that the departure of activist Lo Mansou is a heavy loss to the struggle for the Palestinian cause and the defense of the Palestinian detainees.
The movement praised Suzanne Lo Mansou’s commitment as a leading figure in supporting the Palestinian cause and Palestinian detainees, and in particular her partner, the fighter George Ibrahim Abdullah, who is imprisoned in France. As a founding member of the Committee for the Liberation of George Ibrahim Abdullah (CLGIA), she was one of the strongest advocates for the freedom of Palestinian women detainees and liberation causes worldwide.
The late Lo Mansou played an active role in organizing events to support the fighter Ahmad Saadat, the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and his comrades imprisoned in Israeli jails. She always emphasized the necessity of liberating Palestine “from the river to the sea.”
Despite her pain and deteriorating health, Lo Mansou continued to struggle for the release of Palestinian detainees and George Abdullah, supported the just cause of refugees, and participated in mass movements condemning the Zionist aggression against Gaza and the official French position as a partner in these crimes in her final months.
Every year, the departed would deliver a statement in front of the gates of the prison where Abdullah is held in Lanmezan. In April, despite her deteriorating health, Lo Mansou was determined to deliver her final statement, demonstrating her determination to defend the detainees in the face of injustice, and to ensure that the voice of the imprisoned fighter Abdullah would remain loud against French imperialism, according to the statement of the Popular Front.
In the statement, the Popular Front sent its sincere condolences to her comrades and friends in France, especially to the Committee for the Liberation of Abdullah-CLGIA, to her family, and her life partner Bernard. It affirmed that Lo Mansou’s legacy will remain a beacon that inspires all fighters to continue on the path of freedom and liberation.
